Yes, Peace and Happiness is now a registered NGO Trust. During the 29th and 30th of december, with help of Bala Narayanan, the trust registration was successfully done. This is probably the best way to start the new year and mark the completion of 2 successful years of Peace and Happiness.

Thanks to every single kind heart who supported us throughout this journey and are still with us to help us in the path ahead. May we march ahead towards a better service and better ways of collaborating together and serving the needy.

We planned and decided to donate 15,000(fifteen thousand) rupees towards their lease money. Jayakumar identified this requirement and since we were already associated with Vallalar Gurukulam earlier, we knew its a genuine need.

The money was given during the visit to the home. We also gave sweets to the kids and also gave few kgs of rice and sugar. We had a great time with the kids. They sang and danced for us. One of the guys painted donald duck and another was a Chess champion to whom we lost playing. There were also yoga and b-boying amateurs who could stand upside down for minutes together. A group of us also played cricket with few of the kids.

After a lovely few hours with the kids, we left the place. The home really needs more help to be done for providing a good environment for the kids.

We also did the money order to Kanyakumari towards the monthly grocery expenses of Gandhiji Arakattalai. Also, the regular contribution for Gas expenses of arumbugal aalayam was also done.

How the event went there:
We bought the umbrella and groceries on Friday itself and packed and kept it for the transportation. We all booked a tavera for carrying the items to the home. We all gathered at tambaram and started towards the sirumargal home. We reached the home around 11:30 am. The home chairman Franklin gave a warm welcome to us.
Nisha has bought sweets for the kids and she distributed the sweets to the kids. We interacted with the kids. There were totally 25 male kids,17 female kids and 7 caretakers. As the kids don’t had a proper trunk boxes or cupboard we also went to Chengalpattu and bought 10 trunk boxes for the kids.
In the meantime the rest of the kids were playing and enjoying with the other pH members. I want to thank JP for referring this home that indeed has valid and necessary needs.

Plan 1:
There is a tuition center in Ice house, Triplicane. They need a system to teach the students about the basic functionalities of computer. We are planning to make one system up and running, so that we can donate that to the center.

Plan 2:
This will be the 23rd pH official visit and we will be visiting orphanage home near chengalpet. This home is running from the year 2006. There are totally 42 kids and 7 staffs to look after them. Franklin anburaj is the person who is running this home for the past six years. He wants to give and impart the importance of education to the kids in the villages. They are in need of following things urgently. The most important need is umbrella for the kids as they are suffering due to heavy rain. We are going to visit this home on saturday nov12 between morning 10 to 1 pm. The need for this home is as follows.

How the event went there:

Myself, Sowmya akka, Haris started off in car from Mahesh home to medavakkam carrying crackers, sweets, old dress and 50 Kg rice. On the way at gowrivakkam, Bhavya joined us in the travel. When we reached the vallar gurukulam , vandhana, elumalai, jaikumar, venkatesh, jeyaraj and manoj baba also made it on time with us.

At 8 AM the kids in the home are having their breakfast, our pH members distributed the sweets to the children along with their breakfast.

Since they were getting ready for school we were not able to have a good interaction with them. The kids in the home are very active and dynamic. We gave the things we bought for them and exchanged the Diwali wishes.

How the event went there:

Sowmya, Vandhana, jaikumar and bhavya had some other commitments so they were not able to join us for chormepet home visit.

Rest of them reached the chromepet home by 9:30 am. I introduced Venkatesh , Elumali, Adarsh and jayaraj to the Suresh Babu [ Incharge of Arumbugal alayam ]. Suresh babu told about the happenings of the home for the past three months.

He was very happy that Kousalya [A girl who joined directly in 6th Std ]. She is currently in 9th standard has scored a centum in Social Science. Suresh babu was very happy and proud about that girl. Indeed it is a remarkable achievement by her even some of us have studied from LKG and failed to score above 80 itself, but she has scored a centum in Quartely examination. He was very happy and proud about the Kouslaya.

The home was selected by Anada diwal [A function conducted by Shankar Mahadevan trust].They gave them new dress for every one of them in the arumbugal alayam But the real need for them is innerwear for the girls and boys, The kids were in shortage of innerwears, so on the spot all of them who were present there decided to give Rs 4000 for their innerwears.
